Yesterday the boys and I were invited to go to the Marysville Strawberry Festival Parade with Anne and her boys (our husbands went out backpacking together). We headed up in the late afternoon to her mom's house to hang out for a while, which is a few blocks away from the start of the parade. Anne's sister lives next door as well, and happened to be fostering 5 puppies. The puppies were super cute and kept all the kids entertained for at least an hour. We ate an early dinner and the boys did a little swimming in the hot tub before we headed out to walk to awaiting spots. Anne's mom, who we call Nana, had seats already sitting out for us. She did this at 8 am, and she said spots were already filling up then. Come to find out this is the biggest event for Marysville. It was fun. I believe this was the first parade for the boys since they were toddlers. Kristjan really liked it. He took an interest in the Royal Court floats, waving at each one. He especially got a thrill whenever he'd wave at a Princess and she would smile and wave directly back at him. It was cute. I think the parade ended sometime after 10 pm. Traffic wasn't bad at all once we walked back to Nana's house and headed home in the car.

Our spot was directly across the town's donut shop. We couldn't resist the aroma, so Anne and I went over to buy a dozen. This one was mine....maple bar with bacon on top. We joked that we hoped Peter and Erik were enjoying their granola bars and beef jerky out in the woods.
