Halloween Festivities

A few nights ago we carved pumpkins as a family.

Then last night Kristjan got in to make some Halloween sugar cookies.

And tonight the boys went trick 'r treating. Kristjan's friend Hannah went along with them. This was the first year Peter and I allowed the boys to go out by themselves. They were excited to not have mom or dad tag along.

Annual Halloween-Themed Dinner

For this years dinner, we munched on human ribs with blood dipping sauce, zombie snot, candy corn seeds, spooky salad, and ghost pee. For dessert we had brains.

Road Trip to Richland

Clifford had an overnight trip to Richland for one of his XC invitationals. I decided to book a room and go on a road trip so we could cheer Clifford on. Here's Kristjan and I in the car ready to head out for the first leg of the drive - to Auburn to pick Peter up after work.
Goodness the drive was super long. But we finally arrived to our hotel after dark. Our room was super nice. We unpacked our clothes before walking over to a Mexican restaurant for dinner and then ending the night with a quick swim.
The next morning Kristjan slept in while Peter and I grabbed breakfast to bring back to the room to eat in bed and watch cartoons.
A cold but sunny morning for a race.
Took some quick pics with Clifford before his warm up.

We don't have a Krispy Kreme close to where we live, so we stopped to grab some donuts at the one right next to our hotel to take with us on our drive back home.

Teatro Zinzanni

Peter and I went out for a date night at Teatro Zinzanni. I've always wanted to go to this, but it's a bit out of our price range. I couldn't believe my luck when at last year's company picnic I won a gift certificate to this place in a raffle. After having the gift certificate for a year, we finally made it to one of the shows. The dinner and show was amazing. It's worth every penny to at least go once to experience it. I would love to go back again one day.

Escaping from the kids for a date night!

One of the dishes of our four-course meal.
 Selfie time during intermission.
View from our seat where most of the performance would take place.
