Catching Up

It's time to update our blog. Our camera was being difficult for a while, wanting to erase the pics i had on the camera and reformat. My hubby, so super sweet, downloaded a program to "rescue" my pics on the camera before they became erased FOREVER. So here are the pics and updates. Enjoy.

Easter: Part One

This year Easter was a 2 week celebration. With us moving, the plan was the weekend before Easter we would have the "easter bunny" come early for the boys and then the following weekend we would be down in Yakima staying at pete's parents' house (his mom has a thing about not doing easter for kids on easter sunday and i still wanted to be able to celebrate with the kids). We ended up not going to Yakima on Easter weekend for obvious reasons, but the weekend before went as planned. That Saturday morning the boys woke up to finding their treats from the "easter bunny". They were super excited. Later that day, we went over to the Davis' house for our church "dinner group" for a potluck lunch. Afterwards the moms hid plastic easter eggs in the backyard for the kids to hunt. Good golly, it's amazing what a year makes!! Clifford was racing around getting all the eggs-he totally had the concept down this year. His bucket was so full.

Easter: Part Two

The day before Easter, the City of Bothell had their annual "easter egg hunt". The plan was for all of us to go as a family. However, Kristjan had to stay home because he wouldn't eat his eggs for breakfast (both boys HATE eggs, but clifford ate his to be able to go). So clifford and I headed out. I thought I had dressed clifford warm enough, but I was wrong. It was cold and windy and clifford was shivering. He got a little blue bunny painted on his face. We ran into some friends of his from church and decided to hang out with them. The easter egg hunt was well organized. They roped off sections of the park by age, and had plastic filled eggs and wrapped candy thrown across each section. I really liked that they kept the big kids and the "babies" in their own section. Once it was time to hunt all the kids went crazy. I thought clifford would have gone for the plastic eggs, but instead he took his time picking up the little candy. That was fine by me since he didn't end up with a lot of candy. The hunt was literally over within 5 minutes!!! Clifford was so cold he stopped picking up candy and said he wanted to go home.

Easter: Part Three

For Easter we headed over to Aunt Janet's and Uncle Tom's for dinner. It was a blast spending time with family. Uncle Carl's bunny cake looked cute and tasted yummy. Even Tara showed up with her super cute baby boy Gavin. Clifford and Kristjan had fun playing with their cousins Dominick and Damien. As we were leaving, Aunt Janet gave each of the boys a bag of filled easter eggs.

"Professional" Pics

it's that time of year again to get the boys' "new year" pics done. i wanted to save money by doing them myself, so i took pics of them outside. it was a bit cold out and the boys weren't really thrilled to be doing this (i even bribed clifford that i'd buy him a new lego if he smiled-still gotta do that). kristjan wouldn't smile at all. they turned out ok. i may or may not redo them later this summer. but for now, here's clifford's "4 year pic" and kristjan's "3 year pic".

Messy

about a month ago the boys had a blast playing in the mixture of shaving cream and glue (it was one of many craft ideas for kids that my sis-in-law roxcy had picked up). the boys loved it, but boy was it messy! it started off with just kristjan playing with it. clifford joined in after playing outside. before we knew it, the clothes came off and the boys were sliding around on the table and the floor in this stuff. we moved them into the bathtub and they were slipping 'n sliding around.

So Cute

yesterday while the boys were playing on the patio, two neighbor kids walked by. the girl is makayla and the boy is braden. all four immediately started playing with each other. after a while they wanted to come in the house to play. since i didn't know their parents, i had them show me and pete where they lived to we could meet the parents and make sure it was ok that the kids came in (i had a feeling that each parent didn't know what their little ones were doing). makayla's mom was working and her teenage brother was "watching" her. he didn't care if she came over or not. braden's mom was a little more concerned but not as much as i would have been. both these kids are 4 years old and are able to run around this huge apartment complex unattended!!!!! i was shocked!!! so we went back home and let the kids play in the boys' room. i think it's so cute that boys made some friends!! the kids even knocked on the door after dinner to see if the boys could come and play. i have a feeling that these kids will be over alot, since i won't let the boys out of my site. but i won't complain too much b/c at least i'll be watching these other two kids and know they're safe since i don't think they get much parental supervision. we'll see how this goes.

We've Moved!!

i haven't been able to post any new updates lately because we've been busy....MOVING!

we moved to lynnwood to a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. it's on the ground floor so the kids can play on grass on the patio! our lease on the other place isn't up until the end of may, but this place was such a good deal with the first month of rent free, that we didn't want to take a chance waiting another month or so and risk the price of the rent going up. oh, did i mention that this new place is $400 cheaper AND utilities are paid. we plan on being here for a few years to save up for a house. it took us about 8 days to move everything by mini-van and car (thanks to my sis-in-law dee for letting us borrow her mini-van that she's selling!!!). we're able to paint, so i painted a few rooms-the boys have a bright blue ascent wall. it's pretty kewl.
