Clifford's Preschool Picture

The Ramseys visit The Nielsen

one of my best friends Jolie stopped by with her 3 super cute kids to visit us on her way through to spend the weekend with her parents. we hung out and talked before heading over to pick pete up from work and eat some grub at Red Robin.it was great to see them again. we used to be "backdoor" neighbors until we moved to the west side. jolie and i are a lot alike, and i really miss being able to hang out with her and talk about everything. maybe one day they'll move over to the west side as well-then we can hang out together, eating our chocolate bon-bons as all of our kids run around the house wild and screaming!!! haha

kids are so darn cute

i swear-my boys do the cutest (and sometimes weirdest) things. the other day as i was on the computer, i had the sliding glass door to the patio opened. the boys decided they would put their boots on and go out there to play. the weather was cloudy and had been raining a bit through out the day, but at that time the rain had stopped. And although it looked super cold, it really wasn't that cold. so i just happen to glance at the boys, and this is what i see kristjan doing (see picture). i laughed so hard.

surprise!!!

for my birthday, i received a very special gift. my dad sent me a dozen roses with a cute teddy bear and balloon. i was so shocked when i answered the door and saw this. my first thought was "who could this be from? not pete!" (haha-my hubby is sweet but i knew better). i was very touched by this gift. to also add to my great surprise, my sister jenna also sent me a little birthday gift, which included some family pictures!

Kristjan's 3rd Birthday!!

oh my goodness!!! my baby boy is 3!!! we had an awesome party for kristjan's birthday. we decided to have it at pete's parents house, since everyone we were inviting lived down there. so it just made more sense for us to make the commute. family and friends came over to help celebrate. the party was "luau" themed. the decorations turned out great (thanks mama mickey). kristjan really wanted a "little mermaid" cake (since he loves that movie), so that's what i made for him. the cake turned out way better than i expected. the food was great and the party was fun. kristjan got lots of super cool gifts. the party was a blast!!

Thomas the Train

For Kristjan's birthday gift from his Aunt Dee, he went and saw Thomas the Train Live!! He LOVED it!! Myself, Kristjan, Clifford, their cousin Howard and Aunt Dee went to the show. Unfortunately, the show was to start at 7pm (which is typically the boys' bedtime), but was late starting. So both Clifford and Howard were ready to fall asleep. Once the show got going, it was a lot of fun. The show had a 15 minute intermission, so since the boys were super tired we went ahead and left the show early. Kristjan really didn't want to leave, but with a little bribing for a sucker, he was for it. Thanks Aunt Dee!!

Pedicures-oh yea baby!

something i've always wanted to do is get a pedicure. for whatever reason, i've never went to get one. so today i had pete take me to get one-and he got one too!! we sat for an hour and a half getting our feet soaked, scrubbed and massaged. pete even let me pick out the color of polish for him-bright neon orange!! he even got flowers painted on! i love my hubby-he doesn't get weirded out by stuff like this. he knows how to be goofy. you gotta watch those asian chicks though. they're super nice but they get you to do anything and everything at the salon. we're not sure what exactly they say so we just smile and shake our head yes. next thing i know we're getting way more stuff done to our toes than we wanted. oh well. it was fun.

I'm blonde again!!!!!!

Kristjan's First Set of Stitches

Last night, we took Kristjan to the hospital, where he received his first set of stitches to the middle of his forehead. The boys were rough housing around just a little before it was time to put them to bed. Clifford pushed Kristjan, who ended up smacking his head in the corner of the wall (Clifford felt so bad; we told him it was an accident and that he wasn't in trouble). Blood immediately started running from Kristjan's forehead. We gathered ourselves up and made the drive to the hospital. The doctor was super nice. He gave us the option of gluing or stitching the wound. We decided on gluing, but as the doctor was prepping to do this, he said he wouldn't be satisfied with the results and wanted to stitch instead (when the doctor pushed the wound together you could see that it wouldn't go "back together" nicely if we glued it). So Clifford and I left the room (Clifford was bummed that he couldn't watch) while Pete stayed behind with Kristjan. Pete said he did ok in the beginning, then started screaming "mommy/daddy help me!". And then in the middle of it, he had to pee, which he ended up doing on the nurse. Luckily it was a quick hospital visit and Kristjan was a trooper. When it was over with, Kristjan said "I want brother to have a turn". We were actually surprised that Kristjan got stitches before Clifford did. At least we got the "first" one out of the way. Check out the pics

What's up with this?!

so for the last 2 and a half months (off and on) i have been sick 4 times. it seem once i'm done with one, i have about a week of relief, then the next one comes. so last weekend for Super Bowl, i wasn't feeling good. i slept a bit and that went away. UNTIL THIS MORNING!! i woke up at 3am with pain in my ear. i couldn't go back to sleep either. so i tried searching online for "home remedies" to do (since i knew this was an ear infection) to get me by until i could call the doctor. while searching, i also looked for a 24hr clinic near by in case i couldn't make it until 8am. pete had to be at work earlier than usual and the kids woke up earlier than usual. SO at 5:30 am the kids and i drove to issaquah so i could see a doctor (a half hour drive). i was surprised by how many people were out driving over here that early. anyhow, saw a doctor; went to walgreens there and waited for my meds-all four of them. i even bribed my kids that if they were good for me at my visit that i'd buy them candy. as soon as we walked into the store, clifford goes "where's the candy?". the check-out lady thought that was funny. so it's 6:30am, and my kids are eating m&m's while i wait. for the drive home, instead of being a half hour drive, it was almost an hour b/c of traffice. Can this day get any worse???? i hope i don't get sick any more!!! ok. enough of my rambling.
