Birch Bay State Park

The boys and I returned home from the family reunion only to turn right back around and leave two days later for another trip. This time it was for another moms-only camping trip to Birch Bay State Park. This was our first time at this campground, and I was impressed. It was well maintained and clean. Our group reserved the group site. Though you had to park in the parking lot and carry your gear down, it was secluded and very private from the other campsites. And the surrounding views of the Sound from the waterfront were gorgeous, as well as the sunsets each night! I hope to go back for a family camping trip next summer.

DAY ONE
Car is loaded up again and we're off!
Once everyone arrived and tents were set up, we set out for the beach
After a few hours at the beach we went back to camp for dinner. Luzia and Haley each took a turn taking pics of our group.
 Yummy Tacos!
After dinner we went to the beach in hopes of watching the sun set. We were just minutes too late, but were able to capture some great pics of the kids
Poor Clifford...looks like he's pouting, but he actually had just gotten hit in the head with a rock from one of the girls who joined us on our trip. She was trying to through it in the water, but unfortunately she didn't have very good aim.
Back at camp for games before bed

DAY TWO
The next morning we discovered we had visitors during the night. They left evidence of their visit.
After breakfast we packed up beach gear and snacks for a day at the beach
The boys love these kayaks that Anne brought on the trip
Jackson, Luzia and Clifford playing games
Back at camp Clifford decided to crack open the clams he found on the beach
The group of kids who came on the trip
We went back to the beach later in the evening in time to watch the sun set

DAY THREE
On our last day, after packing the gear back into the car and saying goodbye to our friends, we went to check out a local joint for lunch. We shared a pizza and the boys got ice cream before we made the drive back home.
