Maryhill Camping Trip

Our second camping trip of the summer was to Maryhill State Park down in Goldendale. We went with our friends Mel & James and their girls. Before heading to the campground we first stopped at the art museum for a quick tour.
After the museum, we stopped at the winery for a tasting. It was Peter's and my first time ever doing this. We both agreed it was a lot of fun and will have to go more often.
 Our loot for the weekend.
After the tasting and making our purchase, we sat outside for a picnic lunch and played a game of bocce ball.
 Camp Life
We took a little drive to do some rock climbing.
(It was extremely windy where we were!)
After rock climbing we stopped back at the winery for another picnic lunch.
Once we returned to camp, we went swimming in the river before and after dinner.
We didn't really want to have a campfire. As nice as one can be with the ambiance, we didn't feel like dealing with breathing the smoke or having our clothes and gear smelling of it. But the boys still wanted to roast marshmallows. So we compromised.
On our last day, after packing up camp, we made a side stop to check out (fake) Stonehenge.
For the drive home, we didn't want to deal with traffic/construction on Snoqualmie Pass, so we decided to take Chinook Pass over. We made a quick stop at Peter's parents house to show the farm off to our friends. The girls loved all the kid-related toys in the backyard, and even snacked on some berries from the garden with Kristjan. After showing the place around, we trekked along until making one last stop for lunch for some fish 'n chips at Gold Creek restaurant.
Our friend Erik doggy sat for us for the weekend. He sent us a pic of Sheeba and Chewie cuddling in his bed.
