Friday night Peter and I were able to go out to have a mini-celebration for our anniversary after all, thanks to our friend Anne who took our boys for a sleepover. We had intentions to go out and about around town, but we were so exhausted from everything we had going on prior in the week that we just managed to go out to dinner. Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We went to a (new to us) restaurant, the Clay Pit, which served Indian food. I was a little skeptical at first since I'd never had this type of food before, but was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. We will definitely be going back. The
only thing I didn't like was the glass of wine Pete made me drink (yuck! not a fan). While waiting for each course to arrive we reminisced about the last ten years and how much our lives have changed since we were first married. We also decided about how we want to officially celebrate our ten years together. During the Christmas holidays we talked about taking a trip to Vegas, but then life got busy and it got pushed to the back burner. It got brought up once in a while throughout the past few months, but again, nothing came of it....until now! Our goal is to take a road trip down to Vegas in October!!! One way or another, it's going to happen. We flip-flopped about flying vs driving. We can't really afford to foot the bill all up front for plane tickets, so we decided we'll save up between now and then for gas and spending $$. Plus, what better way to spend time together than on a road trip?! This weekend we're going to sit down and work out a budget on how much we want to save, and hopefully by the weekend after that we can reserve our hotel room. I'm soooo excited!!!!
