Basketball

All year Clifford has been telling us how much he wanted to play basketball. Unless you count tiny tots tee-ball when Clifford was 3 years old, we've never put them in sports. Our rule has been that they have to tell us they want play. We've implemented this rule mainly because sports games tend to happen on the weekends, and we're always busy, especially in the summer. BUT since Clifford has been consistent in voicing his desire to play, we (well, I) decided to sign him up thru the Boys & Girls Club. Practices began in November, and the first game was this last Saturday. I wasn't sure what to expect, but Peter and I pleasantly enjoyed watching the game. You can definitely pick out who the superstar players on his team are. Clifford's team consists of other boys' his grade, 2 of them who actually go to his school. It's about 1/2 knows what they're doing and the other 1/2 who have no clue. Clifford falls under the no clue category. I'm sure with a few more practices, though, he'll get better at it. So far he's enjoying it, which is important. His team has a bye this weekend, meaning they don't have to play. But on the following weekend before Christmas, he has 2 games that Saturday with an hour between. THEN come to find out in January he has a basketball game along with team pictures the SAME DAY as Pine Wood Derby!! Luckily both events are at the same location. I just have to figure out how to juggle him between the two. The joys of sports :)

See the boy with the ball? That's Clifford, trying to make a shot! Except he's shooting at the wrong hoop!! Lol, he was so excited that he forgot the refs switched which hoop was theirs (I have no clue of any basketball terminology, so hopefully you know what I'm saying). Luckily he missed :)
