Lake Wenatchee

Last weekend we went car camping with four other families to Lake Wenatchee. Peter took that Friday off, so we got a jump start on making the drive over and making most of our time there. We really liked this trip. I think we'll be adding this location to next years list of places to camp.

Car is packed and we're ready to go! There's a little more wiggle room in the car with this trip, much to the boys' relief.
 Our home away from home
 Lunch!
Following the trail down to the lake
Gorgeous! And the lake was warm enough to swim in.

Sheeba is LOVING all these vacation trips!
The chipmunks at camp were FAT and BRAZEN. Here's one drinking out of Sheeba's water bowl...right in front of us!
Peter seeing if he could get a chipmunk to eat out of his hands...the critter thought about it...
Some of our friends started arriving to camp, so here we are back at the lake with some of them.
Dinner! This is the most car camping we've done in one summer, so I'm trying to get creative with our meals. Here, we have taco haystacks.
 Kristjan being, well, Kristjan :)
Kiddos enjoying a game of sequence Saturday morning (turns out Clifford really likes this game and is very vocal that we need to go buy it!)
After breakfast, Peter and Erik decided to take some kids to float the river. Clifford and Kristjan were very resistant to go, but once in the boat, they had smiles on their face :)
They saw this cool tree house during the float!
Kristjan back at camp and to riding scooters around the park.
After lunch Peter, myself and Bruce went on a float.
Saturday evening we made one last visit to the lake. I was really bummed with the weather. It was constantly overcast and the wind was awful, though I was told the wind was unusual. The sun had popped out of the clouds, so we rushed about getting our swimsuits on, but by the time we made it down to the lake, it went back behind a clouds :(
Back at camp, enjoying some cake for Bruce's birthday, then a game a sequence.
Sunday morning it started to mist, so Peter and I decided to quickly pack up camp and drive into Leavenworth for some breakfast and a walk around the town before making the drive home.
