April Fools

While the boys played outside after school today, I got in the kitchen to whip up a fun April Fools dinner for them. When they asked what was for dinner, I simply told them cupcakes. They were excited, though skeptical. They continuously asked me if I was being serious or if I was playing a joke on them. Each time I confirmed we were having cupcakes. It wasn't really a lie....for dinner I made cupcakes (meatloaf) topped with blue frosting (mash potatoes) and sprinkles (peas). When I called them in for dinner, they were amused. For dessert, I made them cheese sandwiches (sliced angel food cake with tinted frosting). We had fun, and it was a nice tweak to our usual strict week night schedule.
