Fort Nielsen
For Easter weekend, Pete went out snowshoeing with his cousin Daniel and buddy Nick. I dropped Pete off at Daniel's place in Tacoma on Thursday night. The next morning the three of them headed to White Pass. Their goal was to hike in to "Fort Nielsen", a secluded spot off trail Pete and Daniel found years ago. They didn't find that exact spot on this trip, but Pete said they came close. So for about three days the guys dug in the snow! I guess they think it's fun?! They built themselves a "kitchen" area, with shelves underneath their work station, and a snow cave to just sit in and chill. It was their "man cave". Pete said at one point they attempted to start a fire, but it didn't last long. All three guys 'cuddled' in one tent, with Daniel sleeping in the middle (I'm sure Daniel kept them all warm with his body heat). They came home extremely dirty, stinky and exhausted. The plan was for Daniel to bring Pete up to Aunt Janets (that's where the boys and I would be for Easter), then we'd all head home together. I guess Daniel was tooooo tired. So Pete got to Nick's house, which was about 10 minutes away from Aunt Janet's house, where I picked him up. They had fun.

Easter at Preschool
Last Wednesday and Friday the boys celebrated Easter in preschool. They dyed two eggs, went on a mini-Easter Egg Hunt, and the teachers gave them just a few little surprises to take home. They also learned what Easter is really about (not just the eggs, the bunny and the candy). They were all smiles when class was over.

My First Pay Check!!!
So at the moment I "unofficially" have a job! In February, Pete's boss, Andy, asked if I would be interested in coming in and detail cleaning the engineering office (it seriously hadn't been done in about 10 years!! the dirt was so thick!). I said yes and since then, as my schedule allows, I go in and detail clean. I go in to work after Pete comes home, that way one of us is always watching the boys. I started with the engineering office. There's about 12 cubicles and two offices. It seemed to take forever to clean all of that. Once I was done with that, I was asked to clean the "Quality" offices (it's just another section of Romac). I completely finished that as of last week. Up next is two more offices and then we'll see if there's more to be done. I'm excited about this. It's nice to get out of the house and get paid!! Last Wednesday I received my first paycheck!! Almost a complete $400!!!! Pass the word around. I'm willing to go clean elsewhere. I just DON"T do toilets!!!
Seattle Children Museum
Back at the end of January, our friend Jolie and her three kids came over and spent a weekend with us. Her oldest daughter, Joanna, had a preschool field trip to the Seattle Children Museum. I watched her two younger kids (Jaclyn and Jayden) along with Kristjan while she took Joanna and Clifford on the field trip. Clifford was such a good boy, listening to Jolie, minding his manners, and keeping close with her. Jolie said his favorite part of the museum was the "camping" section, where there was a tent set up and kids could "rock climb". After the museum, Jolie treated the kids to lunch and ice cream, a ride on the carousal, and walked a bit around the Seattle Center.

Clifford's A Superstar!!!!!
Each week in the four year old preschool classes, a child is selected to be the "Superstar" of that week. They bring a snack on that Monday for their snack day, get to bring show and tell for the entire week, and they get to put together a poster board of pictures of themselves to share with the entire class. Well, this week is Clifford's turn!!! I found some "star wars" fruit snacks for him to take, and I had him answer a small questionare about himself (one question was 'where do you want to go on vacation?' his answer was 'to the lego store'). He helped me put together his poster board. It was so much fun!!! And his board looked great!! Technically it's his first homework assignment!! How exciting! And all the kids at school loved looking at the pictures!

Picnic Point
The first day of spring was GORGEOUS!!!! We took advantage of the beautiful day by getting together with our friends Gordon and Michelle and going on our first walk on the beach of 2010!! We went to a new spot, Picnic Point, and spent about four hours there. We all came home with a mini-sunburn on our faces! We walked a good chunk of the beach and collecting lots of great sea shells. Gordon was such a great sport. For almost the entire walk all he heard from Clifford was him yelling "Gordon! Gordon! Turn this rock over!!" We found lots of crabs, fish and other sea life under them. The best part for the kids was when Michelle found a HUGE dead catfish under the boardwalk. She took a rock to poke at it and show the kids it. We kept telling Clifford not to touch it. He turned to his dad and Gordon and proudly whispered to them "I already touched it!!" Afterwards we all headed back to our place. Gordon and Michelle stayed for dinner, and Pete cooked up some delicious tacos. Once the boys went to bed we watched a comedy show together and had some great laughs!! It was a fantastic Saturday!!
