Long Beach Trip

We were invited to join my in-laws for a clamming trip down in Long Beach this past weekend. The boys had a day off from school last Friday, so Peter took a vacation day to have the day off as well. As soon as Peter got off work Thursday we pulled the boys out early and off we went! It was a much needed mini-vacation for all of us. And even though the weather was awful at times during our stay, it was still tons of fun. And the boys really enjoyed hanging out with some of their cousins that tagged along for the ride. We all ended up leaving a day earlier than planned (thanks to the weather). Everyone came to our house for pizza and a movie, before they made the trek towards home to avoid the upcoming weather on the Pass. All in all, it was a great weekend!

Here we are Thursday afternoon, with the car packed up and us ready for the long drive!
It took us an extra hour than the typical 4 hour drive to Long Beach due to the weather and multiple car accidents we came upon. We made it to the RV just in time to grab a bite to eat for dinner before heading down to the beach to do some night clamming. Though no clams were to be found, it felt good to get some fresh air and stretch our legs.
 Bed Time!
The next morning everyone got up and ready to try their hand at more clamming. All in all, only 3 clams were to be found. Not enough to make fresh clam chowder. But that's ok. Everyone had fun hanging out on the beach. ESPECIALLY the dogs. This was Chewie's first time at the beach. He loved the freedom of running around without a leash on.

We spent the rest of Friday afternoon and evening hanging around at the RV. It was very relaxing.

Happy Birthday Grandpa

Sunday, March 6th would have been my Grandpa's 84th birthday. I sent some money down to my mom so she could buy some flowers from us to put on his grave. In return, she sent me this pic :)

End-of-the-Season Basketball Party

We are officially over with basketball. I'm always torn about this....happy it's over because now we don't have to worry about rushing to practices or making sure our schedule is available on the weekends for games, but on the flip side, I'm sad because it's so much fun to watch Clifford and his teammates play, and it's usually around the last two games of the season that the boys finally get the hang of all the plays they've learned at practices and implement them into the games. But it was a great season. The team party was the evening after their last game. The coach and his wife put together some Minute To Win It games for the boys to play, followed by ice cream sundaes, and finishing off with awards. Hopefully next Winter we'll see most of the boys back for another year of basketball. As for us and Spring sports, Clifford had his heart set on playing Flag Football again. Peter and I decided to skip it this year for various reasons. Clifford wasn't too happy about it. But it all worked out for the best because just yesterday Clifford's soccer coach sent out an email regarding Spring Soccer. It's only for 6 weeks, so we can handle that :)
