Happy Thanksgiving!

We had an amazing Thanksgiving this year. Mickey and Cliff joined us, as did our friends Mel & James with their girls. Mel and I split the meal between the two of us to prep and cook, and Mickey baked the pies. The day was spent munching on snacks, doing arts & crafts, watching football, and cooking the meal. We ended the night with pie and watching a comedy on Netfilx before everyone retired to their respective homes/RV. There was no drama, no tears - just lots of laughs and a good time had by all!

(Kristjan wanted to learn how to prep the turkey for brining. It was very entertaining to watch)

Jane's Surgery

Peter and I returned from Mel's birthday getaway and was home long enough to pack a new travel bag before needing to leave to travel down to Yakima. Jane was having gallbladder surgery early Monday morning. When her appointment was originally made a few months back I automatically text her and said I would be come down for a few days to help her during recovery. The surgery itself went smoothly. Peter and I made sure she was comfortable, well-rested and fed. We enjoyed our time with her, and I know she felt the same about us. I'm just grateful work was flexible to allow me to take the time off to help her out.

Jane ready to go home and rest.
Peter made sure Jane ate some soup later in the day after her surgery.
Her bosses from Skateland brought over these beautiful flowers and some meals for her.
Discovered this beauty when we went for a run to the store.
Peter and I were able to visit and go out to lunch with our friend Grace. We went to The White House. The food was almost too beautiful to eat!

Mel's Birthday Getaway!

We went on a weekend kid-free getaway to Rasar State Park to celebrate our friend Mel's upcoming birthday!!! The four of us had an amazing, relaxing, kid-free, quiet weekend! We were all a little sad to have to leave and come back to reality.

Car is loaded and we're ready to go!
Peter and I made sure to spoil Mel.
I love this pic of her! She is by no means a girly-girl - ever. But she played to the camera and I was able to capture this cute pose!
Inside and outside views of the cabin.
I get to be in a pic!
Mel cooking up a scrumptious breakfast hash.
We ventured out for an afternoon hike.
 A happy little tree.
We saw a Native American store on our drive up to the campground, so we decided to drive back down a ways to check it out. Peter finally found the style of hat he's been dying to have.
Our last few moments at the cabin before making the drive home.
