Carnival

Tonight was the PTA Carnival. I'm so sad that this will be my last one to help out with at Martha Lake. It was sooo much fun and looks to be major hit by everyone!!! Peter and I went in right after school to help set up, with me staying the entire time until the start of the event helping out while he took the boys to grab a some dinner. I ended up helping out at a game booth for a bit while the boys ran around with their friends and Peter found some other dads to talk to. Unfortunately, we only stayed an hour. Peter was already bored and ready to leave, and Clifford ended up feeling sick (we're pretty sure it's what Peter and I had earlier in the week). Definitely one way to get out of cleaning up after the event!

Finishing up with set up as some families start to trickle in
Clifford and Kristjan ready to have some fun!
I think this is Kristjan after 20 minutes into the Carnival
Kristjan playing one of the many games...and still has a sucker in his mouth!

Zip Line Crossover

This last Wednesday was the cub scout's May Pack Meeting and Zip Line Crossover. For last years, it was just so boring, where it lasted maybe an hour and everyone went home...nothing major. Well, this year it was FUNtastic!!!  Peter was in charge this year, and did a fabulous turning it into an engaging program. He requested the Boy Scouts from Troop 49 to join us. We had a flag ceremony, awards, skits, the crossover itself, and s'mores!! All the scouts were laughing and having a good time watching the Troop preform skits and jokes. The scouts also had a blast riding the zip line (it was all good until an adult went on it and broke it..bummer!). And of course no one could pass up a s'more. In my last cub scout blog post, I mentioned about how exhausted and tired Peter and I were of scouts and our leadership roles, but after this event and all the compliments Peter received, it rejuvenated our attitude.

Getting Started...

Memorial Day Weekend

We originally had plans to go out on a backpacking trip for the holiday weekend, but due to there being too much snow on the trails/lakes and Pete feeling under the weather, we decided to cancel the trip and instead go on day hikes. I had already made arrangements for the boys to stay home that Friday from school, as did Pete from work, so we lounged around that day. Saturday we went up to Wallace Falls and on Sunday we did the Snoqualmie Tunnel. On Monday the plan was to relax, clean up the house, and get ready for the new week, but I ended up getting sick with whatever Pete had earlier in the week...x 10!! It was awful. I was up every hour during the night and couldn't keep the smallest amount of water down. I spent all day Tuesday in bed sleeping in 20 minute intervals, and today I'm still trying to recover and am sore all over. No bueno!!
