Labor Day Weekend
Pete and Clifford went on a backpacking trip from Dorothy Lake (Steven's pass) to Snoqualmie Lake (Snoqualmie Pass). Daniel 'n Dominick and their friend Nick also went. It sounded like they had a lot of fun, and Clifford was the first to catch a fish that weekend. Enjoy the pics :)

Edmonds Evening Beach Walk
A few weeks back, along with our neighbor Sara and her two kids Nikki and Zach, we attended the Edmonds Evening Beach Walk. It started off with an educational piece about sea life. This was hard to hear and kids were losing interest, so we beat the crowd and headed down to the water. Scuba divers were working on bringing sea life up out of the water and into little swimming pools for all to see and touch. This was fun, until the crowd started making its way down to the water and it was hard to keep track of our kids. That was our cue to leave. We headed back home and treated everyone to some yummy ice cream :)

Snoqualmie Lake.....Again
Pete and I went back up to Snoqualmie Lake two weeks after our first trip there, but this time we took the boys with us. It's the farthest they've ever hiked at 8.2 miles one way. We spent two nights out there. Days were spent swimming in the lake, fishing, and boys playing around. It was a lot of fun and a very long hike out. On our way home we treated ourselves to some McDonald's and ice cream. Here are some pics from our trip.

Nielsen Family Reunion 2012
August we headed out to Westport for the annual Nielsen family reunion. It was a small crowd this year, but fun nevertheless. The moment we drove up to the campsite, Gavin ,Tara and Michael's little boy, instantly took to us and palled around with the boys (years past given his young age and not seeing us often, he's wanted absolutely nothing to do with us). Let me just say, he's a cutie! He reminded us of when Clifford was a toddler. Peter and I ended up buying a crab ring while we were down there, and Daniel took us to a few different spots to crab. Pete caught 2!! On Saturday we went crabbing in the main town. Kristjan and I decided to take a walk and hit up the local shops. Our special treat was filling a bag full of salt water taffy to take home with us. We never made it out to the beach until the last day right before we headed home. As always, at this years reunion the company was great and the food was yummy. Now that we're back home, Pete and I have been having fun planning a new location for next years' reunion. Our goal is to find 2-3 different spots to rotate to each summer. For next year, we found an awesome large cabin up by Mt. Rainier.
